Peggy and I send our heartfelt condolences to Beverly and the family. George was a wonderful person to have known. It was inspiring to work with him at CDC. He was more than my boss, he was my mentor, my friend, and generally a delight to be around. He influenced many with his knowledge but also with his kindness and williness to help others. His scientific achievements in the field of Mycobacteriology continue to be respected and known both nationally and internationally. He will be sorely missed.
