Obituary

The celebration of Life service for Mrs. Patsy Ann Janes, 77, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, Jan. 26, at New Beginning Assembly of God, 2193 West Broad St., Cookeville, Tennessee with Pastor Myron Greer officiating. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 11 am until time of service.

Patsy was born November 17, 1941, in Aransas Pass, TX, the daughter of the late Edward A. Dierlam and Thelma O. Lightell.

Patsy passed away peacefully the evening of January 19, 2019.

Patsy was preceded in death by her Father, Mother, Husband (George E. Janes) and Son (David E. Newberry Sr.).

Patsy is survived by her Stepmother, Jean A. Dierlam of Garfield, AR; 3 Sisters, Jonell Minter of Monroe, LA; Faye Spencer of Lolita, TX and Katie Williams of Henderson, TX; Daughter, Sherry Neely of Cookeville; Grandaughter, Savannah Brown (Jeremy); Grandsons, David Newberry Jr. (Arin) and Cody Newberry (Hayley); Great Grandsons, Judah Brown, Levi Brown and Corin Newberry and Great Grandaughter, Evelyn Newberry. In addition, she is survived by numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews, and great nieces.

Patsy attended New Beginning Assembly of God Church, where she served as Women’s Ministry leader and as a member of the Praise Team.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to New Beginning Assembly of God Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.

We are so sorry for your loss. When this happens in our family we need more than human strength. God and his Son can provide what we need. Please review these scriptures : John 5:28-29 “Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.” Revelation 21:4 “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes,and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
